1. Vehicle Condition
The vehicle must be returned in the same condition (normal wear and tear excepted) as when rented. It is the customer’s responsibility to thoroughly inspect the vehicle before taking possession. If the renter is not satisfied with the vehicle, they must notify the rental station immediately for a replacement. Damage to the interior or damage caused by weather conditions due to customer negligence is not covered by insurance. The renter will be fully liable for such damages.
2. Smoking & Extra Cleaning Penalty
Smoking is strictly prohibited inside the vehicle. If smoking occurs or if the vehicle requires excessive cleaning due to dirt or animal hair, a cleaning charge of 50.00 to 150.00 EUR will apply.

4. Insurances
CDW: Renter's liability for damage ranges between 700.00 and 2,000.00 EUR depending on the vehicle category. An administration fee of 72.00 EUR is also applicable. In case of total loss, liability varies by car group (details in rental agreement). CDW does not cover tires, wheels, the vehicle’s underbody, or interior accessories. In cases of negligence, alcohol/drug use, or non-insurance-eligible incidents, the renter is liable for full repair or replacement costs. Failure to report an accident to both police and Croco Rentals results in full liability plus 50.00 EUR/day for each day the vehicle is out of service.
SCDW: By paying an extra 15.00 to 20.00 EUR/day (depending on vehicle category), renter’s liability is limited to the 72.00 EUR administration fee. SCDW does not cover tires, wheels, underbody, interior damages, or incidents due to negligence, alcohol, or drug use. Theft is also not covered. No coverage applies in violation of the Road Code or rental agreement. An accident report must be submitted for coverage to apply.
Road Assistance: Roadside breakdown cover is included in the rental. Details and procedures will be provided before the rental begins. Depending on the situation, a replacement vehicle may not be provided.
5. Opening Hours & Out-of-Hours Service
Most rental stations operate from 08:00 to 21:00. Offices may be closed on public holidays. Out-of-hours service is available at an additional cost of 15.00 EUR (VAT included).
Late Returns: A grace period of 59 minutes applies after the agreed return time. After this, a full day’s rental will be charged at the current daily rate, including extras (baby seats, insurance, etc.). Late returns are considered a breach and will incur additional charges.
Rental Extensions: Extensions are not guaranteed. If approved, the new rate will apply, which may differ from the original price. Extensions must be requested in writing at least 24 hours before the rental ends. Failure to do so may result in legal and civil consequences.
6. Accident / Immobilization
In the event of an accident or incident, the renter or additional driver must immediately notify Croco Rentals. If a third party is involved, the police must also be contacted. The police report must be delivered to the local office within 24 hours. If the accident is the renter’s fault, immobilization and replacement fees, loss of use, admin fees, and towing charges will apply, possibly exceeding CDW limits and are non-refundable.
Immobilization: Applies when the vehicle is replaced or inspected due to renter negligence, not mechanical failure.
Technical Fault: If damage or malfunction results from misuse or negligence, the renter is fully liable for all repair costs. If the vehicle is under warranty, the renter covers any costs not covered by the warranty.
